Register Your Domain

If this is your first time developing a website and e-commerce store you will need to register your domain name with a domain name registrar. We offer this at https://cyberfieds.nameservices.net. When you go to choose your domain name it is very important to choose one that describes your website or your company name. If you do this people will go to your site first in the search engines because your domain will state what product or service they are searching for. We offer the ability to change your ip with our domain name services. Your website and domain name are found by the ip address given by the server you have your website hosted on. Your ip is given to you by your ISP and is subject to change at their discretion. If this is a site you want to setup on your pc at home you will need to have the management of your domain name with a registrar that will allow you to change the ip of your domain name when your ISP changes the ip on your modem. I have registered my domains at some of the cheapest sites out there in order to save a few dollars a year. When I went into the management software I found that I could change my hosting domain nameserver by name only, not by ip, automatically renew my account and pay my account. I then find out that when I setup a website on my home pc I was unable to change the ip address when my ISP changed my address. Without the ability to change your domain name by ip as you can guess my website disappeared and it cost more money to get it up. The registrars I was registering my domain with did not inform me of this limitation in their software.We then decided to run our own registrar that would allow us to change our ip addresses on those websites we were hosting from home.

This is a simple and easy process. Instructions on finding your ISP address:Windows 2000 and XP Go to your start button.
Go up to your run button and click on it.
In the text box that opens type in CMD and hit enter.
A black window will open; this is called the DOS PROMPT; a cursor should blink where your text will go.
Type in IPCONFIG /ALL
Write down what is displayed
When you register your domain name (the name of the computer you have your website on) you will need to put in your IP address that you wrote down.If you are using a router you will need to open up your internet browser and put in the address field the gateway address you wrote down. This will open your router. You need to search for the WAN address of the router. When you find it this is the address you will use at the registrar.
